Protecting clients from danger

The issue

Carrying a heavy burden on a particular tax matter for a long period of time, this client came to us to seek assistance with understanding their exposure and guidance as to how to approach the ATO to deal with the matter.

The journey

We listened carefully to the needs and concerns of a new client that came to us to divulge a burning tax issue that had been on their mind for quite some time. Our approach was to provide our initial thoughts of the likely answer, thoroughly research it and provide a number of detailed pieces of advice on the matter. The advice was delivered in written form but explained over a number of meetings with the client and their family. The process involved the need to navigate a complex part of the tax act, formulate strategies in dealing with the ATO and ensuring the client understood and accepted each step.

We worked together with the client and their family on this project to ensure the advice was accurate and in tune to their circumstances.

The emotion

The client was initially very worried and sleep deprived causing anxiety in their lives. As a result of the engagement, we developed a game plan and the issue was resolved with the ATO making the client feel relieved and assured. This meant they could sleep again at night and it lead to a significant moment in their lives.

The outcome

We listened carefully to the anxious needs of a new client to provide a clear and simple solution in dealing with a sensitive matter with the ATO which gave them relief such that they could feel assured.
